Below, our team have voted for their favourite Kate Winslet movies, and we look forward to the future movies to come. So, thank you Kate, and a happy birthday!
Titanic
It'd be impossible to talk about Kate Winslet’s career without mentioning Titanic. This movie brought the tragic story of the Titanic to a whole new generation. The movie cast a young Kate Winslet opposite Leonardo Di Caprio as two star-crossed lovers from different social strata but thrown together as the emergency on the Titanic slowly becomes apparent and unfolds.
This movie established both of its young stars as future stars and they’ve both gone onto glittering careers ever since.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Another love story, but with a difference. This movie sees Kate Winslet and Jim Carrey playing two strangers who run into each other and find themselves drawn together by a strange familiarity. This surreal and quirky film asks us to think about what is meant by memory and whether it’s better to hold onto memories that might be bittersweet, or whether it would be better to let them go?
Steve Jobs
This movie is a classic tale of struggle, resilience and personal drama which tells the story of Steve Jobs rise from early failure to visionary business icon. It’s a fascinating story with a stellar cast of performers and Danny Boyle at the help as director.
Winslet won a Golden Globe for her portrayal of Joanna Hoffman, one of Steve Jobs closest allies and confidants and someone who was working alongside Jobs from the very start of his amazing journey.
