So, what matches should you be watching out for this week? Below, the ClickPlay team share some of their highlights.
Our highlight today has to be France v Denmark, kicking off at 4pm GMT from Stadium 974, Doha. In what promises to be a clash of the titans, defending champions France will be looking to secure their place in the next round with a victory over Denmark. The Danes are unlikely to make it easy for France however, and, with big hitters on both sides, this promises to be a great match.
On Sunday, the ClickPlay team will be watching Spain face off against Germany at the Al Bayt Stadium at 7pm. Spain have had a blistering start to the tournament and a win in this match would secure their place in the next round. Germany on the other hand have had a bad start, suffering defeat against Japan and losing to Spain means an early exit. So, there is everything to play for in this clash of European titans. Pass the popcorn!
The one to watch today is Wales v England in Al Rayyan, kicking off at 7pm. This is as close to a derby as you can get in national football as these neighbour nations take to the pitch. England should but we know that with England, nothing is ever simple. Plus, a rivalry that goes back more than a thousand years between the English and the Welsh promises to bring an extra dimension to this match which means all bets are off!
Cameroon vs Brazil, kicking off at the Lusail Iconic Stadium at 7pm is shaping up to be a great match and full of flair from these energetic sides. Brazil have started the tournament well, but not flawlessly while Cameroon have shown promise but yet to really deliver. Expect some dynamic football and a lot of passion in this match.
